KWI International Fellowships 2026 in Germany
The short-listed fellows will be offered a fellowship agreement, not a contract of employment with a monthly stipend of €3,000. The stipend is designed to meet all your necessary expenditures, including rent, insurance, and living expenses. We also partially reimburse your travel expenses on arrival at and departure from KWI. Please bear in mind, all extra travel costs, such as conference costs, will have to be paid out of your monthly stipend. KWI promotes independent and innovative scholarship, going out of its way to involve the public in its academic works.
Beyond these, we also explore other interesting topics such as the culture of communication. One of the fundamental tasks of KWI is to create new linkages between questions of inquiry, concepts, methods, and theories in the fields of philology, cultural studies, and social sciences. We are strongly committed to furthering this interdisciplinary vision through strong international collaborations. In addition, the Academy in Exile greatly enhances our scholarly and political endeavours by offering an essential research refuge for scholars whose academic freedom is under threat.
